I wrote this song in less than a week (March 2025), looking back at past relationships, realizing I build walls, mentally, between me and other people. It's self-preservation, which I think many of us can relate to. The instruments I played and recorded-electric guitar, bass guitar, vocals and drums.

Lyrics

Verse 1

I have succumbed to the ground
planting these seeds again
Is it shirking off the duties you hand me
either way I have to go

Did those days really exist
did our moments really happen

Chorus

I have walls
they're my protection
If I let you in
you'll cause destruction
I have walls
they're my protection
I let you in
you caused destruction

Verse 2

But, I wouldn't trade
the lessons in for anything
grasping at straws
I don't know what you are anymore

Chorus
(same as above)
